Events raise money for charity
Local author and philanthropist Tom Sutherland made a $10,000 challenge grant to the Fort Collins Symphony Guild at a breakfast meeting Jan. 25 at the Stonehouse Grille. Sutherland will support every dollar sponsors donate up to $10,000 at the Guild event "Sharp Flats," a May 18-19 public tour of beautifully designed and decorated downtown lofts.

Mutt Masquerade, Top Cat & Tails Gala Oct. 28 at Lincoln Center. More than 280 guests attended the 8th annual gala to raise more than $79,000 for the Larimer Humane Society. The money will be used for animal care and placement programs and new outdoor dog runs. more

The Northern Colorado AIDS Project 2006 Evening of Sweet Indulgence, Nov. 10 at the Fort Collins Hilton Hotel included live music, great desserts and the most extensive auction of local art and items from Fort Collins' finest businesses. more

Evergreen Evening Nov. 4 at the Fort Collins Hilton Hotel. This black-tie event raised more than $93,000 through ticket sales and sponsorship contributions for the McKee Breast Center in support of breast cancer education, diagnosis and treatment. more
